    Very unique wye but unless you been there and recognize it, it would be hard to find. Not many clues to go on. Probably hilly, and a semi arid location. But other than that, not much to go on.

    I don't see any hints above that you can get Black Butte, California out of. Please enlighten me.

    Oh, OK. I think I was spending too much time with trying to discern hints. The "pick this off" phrase was a little unusuall so it had me picking apples in eastern Washington till I got tired and just went over to the coast and headed south. I made it through Oregon, checking out Salem real well. You never know, might have been your back yard.
