Sunglasses Icon because that's what we had, SUN!!! About time! We had some yesterday, but I wasn't able to get out. I started off early today, left my room at 5:30, got a few things, then was on my way to the bridge over the Mohawk river where the Selkirk Branch splits from the Chicago Line. I got there around sunrise (6:30), but the sun wasn't out yet due to the hills. I stood around in the 32 degree weather for a bit, and as the sun started to rise, the signals lit, and down the grade from Selkirk came the first train of the day. From 7-7:25 am I saw 4 trains, all westbounds (stack, short TOFC, TOFC, TOFC). After that it was over to Selkirk (got stuck in a little rush hour traffic). Nothing big in the yard, but at the east end, a train was coming up from NYC and one in from Boston. Took a few photos (now around 9am) and then headed to the gorgeous bridge over the Hudson. I waited patiently for 45 minutes, and finally a westbound could be seen across the bridge. A series of shots were taken, and then an eastbound came around the corner from Selkirk as the others disappeared. More shots. This killed my roll (31 pics for the day), so I decided to head back, since I had class at noon.
Way to go Corey They are predicting more sunshine too: mid 70's today, mid-80's by the weekend . I am looking forward to seeing your latest pictures. Harold [ 06 April 2001: Message edited by: chessie ]

Just started shooting slides guys, so we'll see what comes out. Course you'll get to see pics. Slides just take a little longer to develop (can't 1-hr photo them ). What was really incredible about the trip, is that I had shot an entire roll off by 10am! I usually don't get up until 10:30 on Thursdays (class at noon). And Harold, that's what you're getting down in NC. We've got rain as I type, hence the reason I went out yesterday. Also supposed to rain all weekend here.
I may be getting the better weather, but I have no trains to chase Harold I guess I'll have to dig aroung in the archives (shoebox) for some train pics to look at
