My son and I held the Golden Spike Ceremony for the Daniel,Ben,&Crystal River RailRoad Co. this month. Also invested in a couple of Bachmann Doodlebugs. They run well. One is a Rock Island Rocket and the other is for kitbashing one for the Frisco. Found a really good site for that one-if interested, see post under SL-SF postings. Lots of work to do, but the mainline and service yards are done and functioning great.
Hey welcome to the TrainBoard Graphite and Son, Inc. HA! When I was 3 to 8 I used to go with my Grandma on the Doodle Bug from Wichita, Kansas to Aline, Oklahoma then spend two to 4 weeks on the farm with my other Grandma. We got to know the Motormen and I remember several times they would let me see the motor when they started it up, and could sit up front and "run" the train! Big thrill at about 35 to 45 mph! I remember the sound when they shifted gears, that old engine never missed a lick, man it was powerful!! That was back in the 30's.
