I've been meaning to ask this for awhile, but does anyone have info on this GM Diesel plate I got at the Springfield Show a couple years ago? The truck serial number reads: L-12750 with a date of 3-52. I assume it might be off of an F-unit or something but I don't have the resouces to look it up myself. Any info would be great. Thanks. Hmm... I don't have a way to reference the serial #, but there are lots of possibilities... SW1, SW8, SW9, GP7, GP9, SD7, F7, FP7, any others?? Harold
I only have info for Milwaukee Road serial numbers. And guessing from that data, I'd have to wonder if it's from an SW1200 type engine. Somewhere close to that....??? Boxcab E50
Welcome to TrainBoard wolf! I do have some back issues, but it would be kinda' like looking for a needle in a haystack without having a road or model number.... even if you find it in an issue, you'd need to look in the next 10 issues under the "Corrections" column to make sure they haven't updated the info.
What's the serial number? 12750 corresponds to SP 6345, a F7A built Aug-1951... The number you gave was L-12750
