I am looking at getting back into N scale with the Daylight set. First thing on the list will be swapping out the mars light circuit for a more realistic one from Richmond Controls, then the close couplings and LED lighting in the coaches. I have been modeling the German scene for a bit in HO scale with Marklin stuff, its all for sale now so I can get back into N. I take my layout to shows and with the rising cost of fuel, the car will be the future mode of going to the distant shows and the Marklin layout wont fit there. I am going to build a small "T Track" layout using Kato Unitrack and model several passenger trains. The first being the Morning Daylight, then the Super Chief, and probably the CZ with CB&Q E units pulling it. I have drawn up some track plans and have figured out a pretty nice elevated station complex with 3 platform tracks and 1 outside runthru track for freights. I plan to use Kato's elevated station complex kits and a bit of bashing. The whole layout will fit in the trunk of the car and assembled it fits on top of a standard train show table. The Marklin was fun and unique, but a big pain in the butt to haul as the layout has catenary that is almost complete and it takes 2 people to get it in the back of the Jeep. I stumbled onto this forum while researching the Kato GS4 and just love it. Cheers Mike and Michele T

I solely played with Z scale untill I saw the GS4 set. I didn't even think twice, signed up for the per-order (painful 2 month wait) and started on a unitrack layout. Its small only 3'x6' Modified woodland Scenics N lay out (redid track layout for 13" min rad). It's a wonderful set as is the super Chief and looks beautiful with all the cars lit up although a little long for my layout at least I can see her run :). Good luck and have fun with the set I really have. Keep us updated

I just put my Marklin layout up for sale on both craigslist and here on trainboard. I plan to get the whole Daylight set, several of the T track layout module kits as my wood working skills suck, complete kato elevated station set and enough Unitrack to lay the complete main line. It all has to fit in our Chevy Corsica's trunk for trips to shows. We couldnt pass up the offer to get my late grandmothers car, 1988 with 23K miles on it, showroom clean and garage kept, we also inherited her house and plan to be moving there shortly. The room I will have at my disposal is perfect for N scale and with the way the T track modular system is set up, I can expand quite a bit and take what I want to shows. Cheers Mike
