For some reason, I never responded to this... First, something to note in railroad history, there was name duplicity amongst some trains in the USA. Especially passenger trains. For example- You can find multiple uses of "Mountaineer." Or "Columbian." But, in this case, the Milwaukee Road had their Train 213, "The Ford FAST." It ran Bensenville Yard (Chicago), IL, to St.Paul, MN. This was long before the D&RGW ever directly made it to Kansas City. Boxcab E50
Cool! As much as I am a Ford fan (dad works for GM), the Ford FAST name is slick. It stood for "Ford Auto Service Train" on the Grande. Thanks for shedding more light on this, Ken!:angel:
One thing I did not note- So, just for fun. The Milw train, was part two of a joint routing. The cars originated in Canada. But were assembled into a train at Detroit by the GTW. Which took them to Chicago, and handed them off to the Milw at B'Ville. Boxcab E50
