    I took this some time ago but hadn't cleaned it off of my camera card until today. This is the loco for the new operators. I took this photo as they were coming down for the first run of the day - hence no passengers yet.

    That's a great picture. I'm glad that they are still in business despite the infighting that went on. I was only there once and it was a great experience. :D

    The ridership was only about half of what it was the previous year. However, there were many factors. Gas prices were bad last summer. The new operators didn't really have a chance to get much advertising in before the season either.

    I know this loco doesn't quite look right in the Rockies but they are supposed to get a couple of other locos ready for this year. Hopefully this will be a better year for them.

    I believe I also heard the engine brought in can't pull as many cars either; which cuts down on ridership.

    I suppose they could doublehead trains. But aside from doing it for special occasions, that would drive operating costs way up.
