So, Northern Arizona to Southern Canada; Northern China to southern Russia; not Saudi Arabia but many of her neighbours further north, and most all of Europe...
As well as enough ecological damage to practically be visible from space..

The train track enters from the top left corner (South West), but I don't see it exit - is this a terminus?

I wonder what they're digging out of the ground?

A pass over Utah had promise!!
And from what I've come across, it appears to be copper or other heavy metal mining.
Some of which are no longer in operation, and considered a Superfund cleanup site!

Working east from #41 to about #70 and not finding anything.
There's some nice tortured earth near Aytym, Uzbekistan.. around 42N 63E - but that's not it.

But now I really should go work on my layout - there's wiring to be done, and Google Earth ain't doing it for me :D

Hopefully in the next 24-48 hours I have "fast" internet again and can blaze through China in my Google Earth questing.

Hey, that black line chart is useful, and amusing - it's often so wrong as to be funny (Asia, Indonesia, South America) or just missing altogether (Ireland, Canada).

I'm guessing you mean to say that this mine is off-track and I've got to go back and scour the far east inch by inch. That might take more internet bandwidth than I've got [IMG]

On the upside, I managed to get a few more wires soldered. Not enough to run trains yet.

I use the line chart as a guide. Sometimes you have to follow the track just a little farther...;)

    What, like to Kokpatas, Uzbekistan?
    Say about 42°14'56.05"N 63°53'17.84"E ?

7 minutes north and 22 minutes east of my previous Tortured Earth sighting.
Off the pretty black track (but there's still cars on some of the tracks, so it still looks in use)

Google Earth works better at >2Mbit :D

You're right, it didn't look promising until I zoomed right in and then tried to match it more.

Scott did push me somewhat in the right direction with his comments and furtive glances...

Well, no more Intermediate for me; although I might wander past from time to time. ;)
