    1st hint:

By the shadows you can see that it is in the Southern Hemisphere.

Well, I would be very surprised if it's in my backyard, I've trawled over all of NZ trying to find that photo! :)

The river is wrong for most of the North Island. Although it reminds me of Dunedin. The road is also a bit too high-capacity for most of NZ; although it reminds me again of Dunedin..
But the farming and paddocks just look so right for 'round here'

Between 90 and 180, that only leaves West Island (aka "Australia") or some of the Indonesian or Pacific islands..

(Would be nice to get one more notch on my "Geosleuth" belt, but I think I'd need a new ISP for that. Bad dialup speeds! bad!)

    It's not the "West Island".

    3rd hint:
This track was part of this countries very first railway.

Well, apart from the obvious, like Christchurch being the place (not far from Dunedin) which also had rivers "like that"; the fact that I went past there. Twice. and never saw it.

    Good Find!

I think I may go work on my layout now. ;)
