3rd train trip considered to Grand Canyon from Williams

The National Park Service is considering allowing a third daily train trip from Williams to the Grand Canyon, according to officials. Currently, there are two trips per day in the summer.

An evening train could also take passengers 14 miles from the Grand Canyon and back.

The Park Service is considering adding the extra trips to reduce vehicle traffic into the park.

Light rail was once proposed to ease traffic, but the idea was scrapped due to the cost.

Also reported that the CGRY steam program was killed. Around 20 shop employees have been laid off. :(

Yup, they're going green. Saving fuel and water according to press releases. Anschutz now owns the place. Bean counters rule and steam is expensive.

Wow, not good. So what are they going to do with that SP&S they just got? Plus I guess they'll have two nice steamers to sell.
They'll probably ditch the Harrimans also.
