I was asked about this, so here goes. I didn't take any pics during the build. If I do another I will take pics. I used a 15" reversing track, a single straight section and a single curved section of track. First I studied pics of switches, both real and model. There are several varieties including those that bend the tracks to switch and those that hinge the track. I finally settled on neither of those... :startled: because of the way that the reversing track works. I used the lever and reversing mechanism as the basis for the track motion. The detents for the reversing mechanism were removed to allow the thing to move smoothly and easily. I still have a lot of finishing and painting to do as well as making an operating lever that looks real.

You can see the cuts I made to section the track and make it lay properly. It actually works quite well, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I added another post because I almost lost the first one... unresponsive browser...

Here are closeups of the switch sections in both positions and the frog. I used bits of the reversing section to make the guards, as well as part of the reversing mechanism for more guards.

The switch isn't beautiful, but it works great and is strong. Like I said, it still needs finishing touches and paint.

I had to trick the piece of crap software called photobucket into letting me download my OWN pictures. I sure hope they go broke soon. Anyway, I will be sending the 4 pictures to you.
