It seems my other topic went "off the rails" lol and I didn't get a chance to respond to myself. I am starting this again with my attitude chill and open and I ask folks to keep this on topic about the printing and ways to possible help FVM improve. I have taken a new photo w/ my 5DII, 17-40L, AP, No Filters and Natural light. No processing other than sharpening and shrinking. As you can see more clearly now, the printing process is NOT pink. Its purple and blue. I received some feedback from Matt at FVM and this was the response I do not know how this kind of printing works, nor do i care to understand. I am shocked in this era of technology that this could not be better accomplished. I appreciate the sentiment and support of FVM with this product and cancer awareness. I really hoping my particular model is a worst case and that others have shells with better coloring. If so, please post your samples!! Njoy! edit - added a full rez crop. its blurry, but you can see the colors.
I have seen the real one and it is more purple then pink, but more pink then the blue seen here...if that makes sense. Also, I dont believe it was as 'pixelated' as I see here. I guess with some fancy airbrushing it could be blended a little better. Or maybe a decal set will come out, if not already out, and it could be overlayed on this model. Just my thoughts.
does the model come weathered and faded? I think not, so claiming the fading is a problem does not fly. it should be a new paint job so the pink should be pink. but hay it is only money
Matt is talking about the fading of the colors inside the ribbon from dark pink to almost white back to dark pink.
Its obvious that this model is not up to your standards. So why not quit b!tch!ng about it and sell it. It just seems like the logical thing to do since you are obviouslly a perfectionist. Just my $0.02 on it.
and it is people like you that the board bad. a modeler has a right to say about a product. and not be bashed." logtrain"
WOW, I just opened up the image of the model in a new window and placed it next to the proto image, and there is no doubt in my mind that it is off. Not just a little, but a lot. Did Matt say what they are doing to fix yours?
OK. That's it. I posted yesterday in the first attempt on this subject about what went wrong, which caused it to be closed. So here we are again, sniping at each other instead of having a useful discussion- Topic closed. If another thread on this starts, it will be locked immediately. Staff is not going to spend their weekend watching for people wasting bandwidth.
