I have been away from boards fo a long time. It is good to see so many familiar faces. I need some help. I have constructed 2ft x 4 ft modules for a N scale layout. They are arranged in a L shape, with the last one being 4ft x 4ft. In the future another 4x4 will be added to the other end. I am looking to have a continous running passenger train and some frieght operations. It is 13 ft. at its longest and 8 ft down the side that is where the 4x4 is. I never new planning would be so hard. Thanks in advance Paul [ 15. July 2003, 15:10: Message edited by: plbab ]
I'm not sure what you question is or whether you are just venting over something that should be easy is harder than you thought - I can readily relate to that... lol
Paul- What did you have in mind for the setting of the new layout? Urban, suburban, rural? Any geographic features that sound interesting? Rivers, mountains, coastal area? A particular railroad? Or freelance? If you can give a few more hints, I'm sure there are plenty of ideas available. Boxcab E50
It sound like you have a layout that is 2' wide by 13' long and with the 4'x8' section at the end. With that kind of space you should be able to do almost anything. You could do a double track main that opens out to a large engine depo with a yard and passanger terminal. Check out some track planning books you might find a plan you can modify to fit what you want to do. Aloha, Da Chief
Thanks for the replys. I was thinking of a town on the 4x4 section with a power plant for industry. Leaving town it would go into a rual area, in the future on the other 4x4 a mountain might work. I also thought of a harbour with a container ship. So many ideas so little space. Thanks
