There was an article in this morning's local paper about 400 NYCTA 1967-era subway cars being barged to a point off Cape May, New Jersey, and then sunk for use as fishing reefs. Now they'll really pack them in like sardines! The TA is stripping all glass, plastic, rubber, etc., before sinking them. I hope they are also stripping some of the electrical equipment, as I am sure some of the electric railway museums could use it.
