I asked about the code 55 track- I saw some of ME's product, and I must say it looks good. But for now, to get my feet wet, I'm going with Atlas code 80 and Peco switches. Down the road, as I get more comfortable, I'll try Atlas' code 55 goodies.I AM breaking away from cork and have bought Woodland Scenics' foam roadbed. Anyone ever tried this stuff?
I have used cork since i went to N scale 4 years ago. !5 years ago when I had a HO layout I used a foam underlay and found after a few years it tended to perish. I'd say they have improved the product since then, why have you decided not to use cork?
Paul, Since I'm using a foam top, I thought I'd also try Woodland Scenics' foam roadbed. I've used cork since Day One in the hobby, but I looked at WS's stuff and rather liked it. My other option was AMI's Instant Roadbed, but to me it looks less forgiving- once you put it down, it isn't coming up too easy. I'm using white glue as an experiment to hold the roadbed to the blue foambard surface, and nailing the track down on the roadbed (an easy task, since all I do is push the track nail in with my needle-nose pliers).
