I screwed up and was forced to wait for my next train inbound at the Framingham MBTA stop. Oh darn, darn, darn. Look at that. The CSX yard right over there: Areal View: Images of trains to come:
First Time I Have Been so Close: What are these? I saw this large yellow "wall" coming at me slowly along the tracks. It did not register what it was. OMG a locomotive, er, several. Camera, Camera, where's my camera! Phew. got it.
Steve- Do you know anything of the past for Framingham? Such as New Haven days? I'd like to know what the difference was between two train order offices. One was named "Framingham". The other was "Framingham Centre". Boxcab E50
jkk - Check back, there will be more shots (of the same locos I think). Boxcab - I don't know anything about the local history. I might be able to get station photos for you some day.
I sees this thing coming at me. Due to lighting and my eyes it took a moment to realize what it was: Platform and Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge is a great place to watch trains being made up and the occasional other trains pass through. Oh, and the %#@@$% trees blocking all kinds of shots! Where's a beaver when you need one? GP40X! Yippie. Been jonesing for a picture of one for months!
Ballast Train? Just behind the locmotive: Then a long string of empty gondolas? Some of the cars were marked: "NYC". As in "New York Central"?
Late Model SD70s? Who Was the First Owner? (coming to a thread near your) Ya know, that 2bay just plain looks full: Nicely Weathered. I wish they would teach us modelers how they did that:
With the Conrail breakup into CSX and NS, those roads created subsidiaries to which CR equipment was assigned. CSX uses NYC, and NS uses PRR. Almost all NYC or PRR-lettered equipment currently in existence comes from this breakup.
