Has anyone tried to strip the paint off one of there shells?
    What did you use?
Kato I used Rubbing alcohol and it worked . Atlas the undec shells are easy to find so never did one.
Just wondering before I try it.
    Thanks

Never tackled an FVM (unless it was an undec) since everything is glued together.

JDG, I routinely disassemble FVM diesels and have yet to find glue...perhaps you're thinking of IMRC or Athearn?

When I took the large "SANTA FE" off a GP60 shell (Needed to replace it with "BNSF" for accuracy.) I used the 97% alcohol with success.

If you're dealing with one of the GEVOs, Rick, be aware FVM uses a tricky little slide move about front-mid shell. Other than that you should have no problems.

I did a lot of modifications and repaint from boxcars to locos. I use Scalecoat II its a plastic safe paint remover and works very well on anything plastic.

A heads up , don't use Scalecoat paint stripper on expensive Shapeways models... hard lesson.

    Thanks guys.
Sorry I thought I had posted it was a GP-60M.
Randy thanks on the Shapeway heads up also.
I know the Gp-60M had a undec, but most places are sold out ,I snoozed.
