You can configure these kits in many ways. below are examples with the passenger platform. Overhead Transit Station (Kato 23-122) with one expansion set (23-123) added (and a second 23-107). The corridor linking the outside stairs actually snaps down onto the expansion roof.
Why the negativity? These are very nice units. I owned a set a few years ago and they made a great pre-fab overhead station setup, with Kato quality to boot. If you don't want that, probably best to just move on.
