    re: train sims

    (1) which of the sims has the most realistic looking stuff?

    (2) which has the best (i.e. most) variety?

    (3) which has a good selection of steamers?

I am NOT concerned with playability... it's for a graphics design project I have in mind

    (1) I would strongly recommend Trainz '06
I have both Trainz '04 and msts and prefer the graphics of '04. '06 is suppost to be much prettier, granted you have a good computer.

(2)&(3) There is tons of custom content on the download station for Trainz so im pretty shure youd be set in both the variety and steamer departments. (You may want the get the creators premission to use their content.)

    Other pluses:
easy to use surveyor mode for in your case building your own scenes
you cant choose DCC controls as an option so you dont need to take the time to learn a locomotives controlls just to move it. (espically steamers)

Best of luck with your project

Jason TS is made by microsoft, in the future try to buy the good stuff LOL.
But seriously, TS is not THT bad. But they have stopped supporting it as far as I know. Also if you are still enjoying it then it is still good for you.
Wait another year or two then upgrade your PC and get whatever auran has out then and I am sure you won't feel ripped off by then.
And I do have TS but never really played it once I got Ultimate Trainz.
