I just bought some 1.5 inch stuff on Friday. Actually found it at a concrete supply house in my town and paid less than $18 for it. This is one of the places that runs the cement mixers, etc., but also had the best selection in my town, so you might want to look 'off the beaten path' a bit.

As to cutting it, the pieces that I got were 'pre-scored' in the dead center (24") and also on 16" centers (presumably to fit between studs for insulation?). Those 'scores' that were made into the material snapped much more cleanly than the one's I created for some odd reason.

With that said, I put the ragged side to the back will bury that with scenery. The world will never know the difference!

The white bead foam is not the same material. It is extraordinarily messy, whereas the blue and pink extruded polystyrene is not bad at all. It's a completely different product from the white stuff.
