I've been following Montana Tom for awhile, he rides around Montana on his motorcycle taking pictures, is also a Milwaukee Road fan. Today he posted some pictures of the Ravenna substation, in particular , a small turntable located inside of the structure for moving equipment. I thought this was interesting, anyhoo, enjoy and have a Merry Christmas. http://www.flickr.com/photos/montanatom1950/5255633511/in/photostream/
I've never seen a decent view showing exactly how one of those turntables was configured. Originally they all had a spur leading off the railroad, into that bay, where equipment could be transloaded as needed. Boxcab E50
I spent a couple hours perusing his album. Loads of neat MILW gems in there. Even a couple shots of Garrison Tunnel 14 that I haven't yet seen.
