I finished the run-around track today, so I decided to test out the track with a celebratory run of an engine . The RS-1 ran beautifully, and I even had it push and pull a string of cars around the loop . On to the mainline pretty quick ! Happy Modeling!! UPDATE: The dual mainline has been started and the trackwork on module 2 is nearly complete. Test ran all engines tonight...all work wonderfully well!! Happy Modeling!! John ------------------ The Santa Fe and Southwestern, Chief of the Southwest!!
Let's watch it there JCater! You'r goin to catch up to me! Sure fun when that first engine runs under power, isn't it? I took a day and just ran engines, then went back to work with new entheusiasum (or whatever it was in the bottle) ------------------ Watash #982 "See you in the Pit"
Watash, It is nice to see them not only run, but run the way I want them to . I fixed the one bad joint I had in the run-around track. The best part is watching my 4-year-old run them. He is much more excited about this layout than the last one we had, and is really a great help. He stands on a stool and runs the throttle while I check track alignment, curve radius etc. When we are done he always says "Daddy, when can we test run the trains again?" to which I always reply "tomarrow, son, tomarrow!!" Happy Modeling!! John ------------------ The Santa Fe and Southwestern, Chief of the Southwest!!
You are building great memories with your son, JCater. I can remember the red cast iron windup engine I got when I was 4yrs. I'm 70 and daddy is gone, but I still remember him as the best dad I could ever have asked for. You are a good dad, your son will remember and cherish these days with you all his life. Enjoy every minute you can with him, it is over all too quickly.
