I have just completed a kitbash of a "finger rack" flat car using parts supplied in an Alan Curtis Models bulkhead flatcar kit. I used the kit that comes with log bunks for hauling raw logs. First I assembled the bulkhead ends. I then cut the top half off of the assembled bulkhead. I glued the bulkhead ends to the flat assembly and added some 0.05 styrene to the top of the bulkheads. The hardest part of the kitbash was modifying the log bunks into finger racks. I had to file the angled side supports clean and cut them down to half their size and then file bevels into the tops. I then added styrene pads in between each of the 6 vertical racks. All that I need to do now is decal and weather, oh, and find somthing to represent steel re-bar to use as a load. Brian
