I've started building this already, It actually has all that I was looking for. plus it has a basic layout that looks complicated. This is from the Book 48 top Notch Track Plans by Model Railroader.

At the bottom on the north track from the station to the end of the board I extended onto another 4X4 section and have a 3 track yard for setting up trains. Also I exetend the other spurs off the station to go under the layout for more holding to make it look like the trains are on multiple tracks.

I just saw in the new MR mag, someone is selling a 4 car set of the NYC subway cars, I want to get a set and run those on this layout along with the basic freight. I also like this layout as I can expand on it with out having to retrack anything.

The Town is named after my daughter.

I remember when this plan first appeared in MR, and I thought it was a neat one. I have little interest in modeling an urban city, however. Looks like you've put a little thought into your modifications of the plan. Hope it works out!

I like it, in that it's not totally urban, more suburban, it can fall under mixed eras too.

Your only limitation will be the length of your engines and rolling stock, but I like this plan. If you keep your lengths of equipment suited to your curves you should be happy with your plan.
