In the March 2016 Trains magazine (just arrived), Fred Frailey wrote a column about FEC's advancing plan to start using LNG, which shows a picture of their LNG tender in their shop, and which states that FEC expected to be "burning gas" by January 1. This made me wonder if their LNG usage had actually started by now. I did some web searches, and found one picture of FEC's LNG tender (#300) in a train, but it was surrounded by freight cars and not next to any locomotive. I looked on FEC's web site but did not see any recent news there. Does anyone know if FEC has actually started their usage of LNG-fueled locomotives?
