Hi Everyone, Nov 5th, 2000 15:30 Hrs. Anyone else besides Me have a "Favourite Railroad Car?" Mine - Freight - Try the Centre Beam Lumber Cars and the Bulk End Lumber Cars. Why? Guess it beacuse they Have so Many Different Colours and Interesting Reporting Marks. Ideal for Model Railroads. Thanks Everyone, Andrew W. Matheson, Calgary. trainorders@hotmail.com
I would have to say that mine is the Atlas 23,500 gallon tank car. Those cars are just GREAT!!! ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. BLMA N Scale Detail Parts BLMAinfo@aol.com
Craig, yesterday at the big train show in Birminham, I picked up one of the 23,500 gall tank cars, and it is excellent! But my favourite car has to be a spine car ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.alancurtismodels.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery
Alan - never would have guessed you like spine cars! My favorite, I guess, would be coal hoppers. Something about those unit trains that I just like. Second place, I guess, would be the bulkhead double-stacks, ala SeaLand. ------------------ Jenks - the REAL Big Blue [This message has been edited by Eagle2 (edited 05 November 2000).]
I guess my favorite car would be an AC- spinecar followed by an AC- all-purpose wellcar. Then ofcourse there is the AC-flat cars too. ------------------ Catt!#118
Catt flattery will get you everywhere except a discount lol. I'd have to say my favorite may be the new roadrailers I do like the precision masters grain cars although that may due to the price I bought them for . ------------------ Regards Paul Cassar-Moderator & Member number 50 SPAD Investigator #1 ICQ 61198217 http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
ANYTHING PASSENGER! I run mostly freight right now, but once the new Amtrak Cars from KATO come out, I'll be in PASSENGER CAR HEAVEN! SUPERLINERS ROCK! Then I'll need the Genesis Locos and some Roadrailers to put on the rear! ------------------ Brent Tidaback, Member #234 BNSF Railfan-to-the Max and a N-Scaler to boot! Mine is the MOW, particularly the 200 ton wreck cranes back in the steam days. Big, Black, Powerful!! ------------------ Watash
Just a comment about the 23,500 tank cars. I got pics of it from Atlas's web site in both HO and N scale and put them side by side in my computer. I then "cut" out the large N scale couplers, and put the HO couplers on the N scale model. I then looked closely at both cars and I could not hardly notice any difference at all. I showed a couple friends the pics and most of them thought the N scale car was the HO car.
Dave, a lot of comapanies do that. They take a picture of the HO model then change the couplers to make it look like N scale. Walthers and Bachmann are infamous for this. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
I have to second the comment for Superliners. There's nothing quite like modeling a long California Zephyr consist with three P42's on the point...
Boxcars because of: 1. many variations 2. different reporting marks such as: TOEX, BBHX, MTPX, and, NNCX 3. various degrees of weathereng and dents. ------------------ Appalachian & Atlantic Model Railroad "QUALITY at WORK with SAFTEY in MIND"

Man, my eye's hurt from squinting at that yellow writting. My favorite cars are the walthers 5 unit thrall cars, in the TTX yellow with BN markings, and the Atlas 53ft boxcars, BN of coarse. Kevin
Whenever i see text that's colored too hard to read i just highlight it... makes it way easier! <marquee>TTX 89' Flats!!!</marquee>
My favorites are pulpwood racks, depressed center flats, and open sided auto racks. Look Ahead, Look South
First attempt at anything on this board...hope it works right. My favorites are Alan's spine cars and, soon to be, his 89' flats (I'm confident they'll be nice!). But MT's 89' flats are also a favorite, along with their modern boxcars with operating doors...man those are nice! Russ
