My GS-4, hands down. I use this photo as my avatar, as well as my desktop background on all PCs and mobile devices
Any of my Locos really. My C424's are my top picks though. Solid runners, good looking, and strong pullers.
My Broadway Limited Lowell Smith SP&S 750. I added a prototypical horn and put the shell on a DCC/Sound chassis. It looks and sounds great pulling a string of SP&S passenger cars.
Wasn't implying that, just letting everyone know that the cab is not the same as the C44-9, it is the devel of details and the correct NS cab that make these my favorites. I have 6 of these bad boys and when consisted they pull such long trains!
I know I said that SP&S 750 is my favorite loco, but I just purchased an Athearn Challenger so it is now a tie!
I have always liked the GP30 and have several of the Atlas models made for them by Kato in the early 1990's. SSW 5006 was my first DCC install back in 1993 and still has it's original Digitrax DN82 decoder. I guess I should upgrade one of these days but it is still one of my best running models.
I knew you weren't implying that I was implying that you were implying I was implying they were C44-(W's. Just wanted to clarify. Doug
Next favorite are my A-B-A PA-1's in D&RGW Aspen Leaf livery. They look great, and when they'll stay coupled together, can pull the world. [/QUOTE] I had the same trouble with mine until I replaced the couplers between the units with Unimates. An easy swap, and the shorts couple the locos a little closer together which I think looks better.
Just finished up my new favorite! Dual headlight con-cor zephyr with a Loksound 4.0 and Zephyr sound file from streamlined backshop. Put a sugar cube speaker in there and just amazing. Arguably the coolest looking train of all time with amazing sound. I love it!
All my locomotives run very well but if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be my EL and D&H PA's. They just seem to have a presence on the layout that my other locomotives don't.
I would say the 5 Ann Arbor Railroad GP35s I have (three being custom, two factory Atlas but weathered). I'd like to own all 10 the Annie rostered someday, but for now I can do everything I want with 5. Plus, I have an RS-1 and an RS-2 in various Annie liveries, so I've got a good helping!
