Fascists come in all colors. . .Sorry, this joke is past its prime.. So far I haven’t added fascias to my layout. When I do they will be green for the most part with blue where water reaches the edge and most likely gray for those parts of the fascia that serve as control panels.
I've always used masonite, and have been quite satisfied to paint it either a forest green or an "oxford" brown. Boxcab E50
I guess after reading all these posts, I'll have to rethink my plans of having a neon-green with fuscia poke-a-dots fascia
I have seen a layout with very light tan (almost white) fascia and neon green scenery. Euuuwwww! :tb-tongue:
I use 1/8" masonite for mine, painted with whatever brown-ish colored "oops" paint Home Depot happens to have at the time. My current fascia is recycled from the backdrop of my previous layout, I haven't repainted it yet. Here are a couple shots of that previous layout, you can just see parts of the fascia:
After deciding on the colour, don't forget that all important fascia accessory, the drink holder.:tb-biggrin: Folding Drink and Cup Holder
Wow! I must say I'm impressed with all the different viewpoints on this. Lots of insight and things to ponder. Thanks all.
I chose flat brown for the bench work and wall below the layout. I thought it would be like dirt color. The fascia is a kind of Box-car red.
