This photo was taken by Terry A. Kirkland. Most likely in TEXAS because that was where Terry lived most of his life. The freight train shown here is going past signal 2142. Does anyone know where this is?
Assuming miles for signals, and taking a guess that 2142 may be 214.2, some possibles: 1. Dallas Sub: vicinity of Tower 19 near Dallas 2. Oklahoma Sub: between Mina and Calvin, near the MKT crossing 3. Whitesboro Sub: between Denton and Roanoke 4. Shreveport Sub: between Rapides and Fern 5. Austin Sub: between San Marcos and Goodwin 6. Brownsville Sub: between Barge Canal and Inari Random thoughts from map: (2) is central OK, don't know how far north he got. (3) is just north of Dallas. (4) is LA, the scenery doesn't feel right. (5) is central Texas just south of Austin. (6) is south TX along the gulf. Don't know for sure if I'm starting with a bad assumption about the signal number, but if true maybe this'll be a start point with some knowledge of his usual haunts.
