Any word on decoders for the N gauge Kato F40PH? Seems like decoders should be ready at or near the ship date for Kato & Atlas engines. Just makes good marketing sense, not to mention good will for Digitrax and improvement to the bottom line.
    Anxiously,

Digitrax doesn't have a plugN'play decoder as yet for the Kato F40PH.

If you're in that much of a rush, you could always hardwire a Lenz mini gold series decoder in the loco.

I would wait for Digitrax to come up with a plugNplay variety first. It would be alot easier.

This also happened with the IM F-3's when they were first released.

Stay cool and run steam..... [IMG]

    Hello,

If you can solder, or know someone that can solder, You can use the DN163K0A (E8/9, P42, PA-1 decoder). The LEDs must be desoldered, and either shorten the leads, or install the LEDs from the original light board onto the decoder, which is what I did. This leaves you with 2 spare long length golden white LEDs which I'm sure you can find a use for. This is a much easier installation than a "hard wire" would be. You could also use the DN163K0B (F3/7 decoder), but would have only 1 medium length LED left over.
