Has anyone had some experience with the Digitrax AR-1 short circuit protector? I have an PM-4, but have had problems getting it to work on a reverse loop. I am hoping simpler is better.

Buy a Tony's Train Exchange Power Shield Reverser instead. I have both and have had nothing but problems with the Digitrax AR-1. There is always hesitation when the momentary short occurs and occaisionally the overload detection in the command station trips before the AR-1. I have tried adjusting the AR-1 but it still doesn't work satisfactorily.

On the other hand, I have 2 Tony's PS Rev units that are excellent. They are all solid state, no relays as with the PM-4 and AR-1. They work extremely fast and absolutely no hesitation when the momentary short occurs in the reverse loop.
