    Hello all
Ok well, I have a Walthers Trainline Frisco GP15. I have plans to put a patch for BN on it but i'm at a wall as to what to buy for detail parts.

I already have a Mars light for the nose on order. As well as a firecraker Radio Antenna (correct my mistake if i'm wrong but frisco units had firecrackers right? I can't tell from the pics). Besides MU cables and stuff like that what else would i expect to get for it to look good? Any Frisco fans know some details a walthers model is missing?

Lots of Frisco locos had the firecracker antanna, however the GP15 had a whip antenna (other Frisco fans can correct me if that's wrong) You'll need the correct Frisco style pilot plow as well, and an amber beacon for the top of the cab. Those details with the nose gyra will have you set... Oh, the plow was applied to the rear of the GP15s as well so you'll need two per unit..

Here's a patched unit to see beacon placement and pilot details:
    Picasa Web Albums - JOEL - Frisco G.P. 1...

If you flip thru the album you can see other units/views

the plows came with the engine (for both ends), so all i need is a Whip antenna and a rotary beacon? thanks!:tb-biggrin:

Never saw the Frisco GP15's here but if like the renumbering after the merger. Paint out the frisco number and then use 4 inch black numbers and number the unit in the long hood in the white band as follows:
    1324
    BN
With the BN under the centre numbers.

For a decent-looking GP15-1, I added the following details to my Trainline model:
    • Leslie RS5ST air horn
    • Plow pilots, front & real (those snowplows on the model can be used on another locomotive- Frisco never had snowplows)
    • Nose Gyralite
    • amber rotary beacon
    • Cab sunshades
    • Grab irons on the back
    • For the whip antenna, I just used a small piece of metal (snapped-off lift ring, remove the ring part & discard, use the remaining part)
The first four items are from Details West, the latter are Details Associates.

And while you're at it, it may be a good idea to replace thos plastic couplers with Kadees- I used number 5s on my model, although a coupler with a longer shank may be needed to clear the plow pilots.

    Here's an example:

[IMG]Notice the engine on the right? The small protrusion below the coupler is a plow pilot.

Wish I knew the part number off the top of my head, but I do know Details West has them.
