I can't recall if I posted my latest plotting-s and musings.

I have a small collection of HO scale and OO trains that range a span of 1950 to present as far as manufacture. They also represent many different countries; I keep adding to this list monthly as I am fascinated by all the different paint schemes that can be found.

So this layout is best described as a toy train set for all era's and all countries of the world, yes even my USRA Life Like 0-8-0 needs somewhere to be played with at times.

I am currently buying lots of wide radius switches in order to create this track plan. Since I managed to purchase some three way, Whye, and double slip switches cheaply, some of the design will have to be altered. It's amazing how many fine lambert and shinohara switches can be found cheap on ebay.

It will all end up under un-powered catenary and will be running analog because I like control panels a lot. I really miss seeing the old track diagram and mess of toggle switches like back in the good old days. And yes, I do own a DCC system.

All of this will be located in a 12 x 7 ft garden shed with storage underneath the yard area. I can store about 32 banker's boxes in there.

The diagram shows how the yard area is a visual trick. It's really set up to be like a point to station to point layout with a run through for roundy roundy time. the important thing is to be able to see ALL the trains on the layout as a display.

Also, I've looked all over for info on control panel building.

This video by Mike Fifer is really nice:
