    Rob;

    There's at least one, but I can't recall his handle. He is a member of a European HO group in Hemet, California. They have a Marklin system layout. Does your Marklin track actually have three rails, or does it use studs mounted in the ties and a runner instead of a roller on the locos for the middle pickup?

    Marklin C-track uses studs in the ties as the 3rd "rail". It does make for a little nicer appearance than a full 3rd rail. The pickup is a "shoe", could probably call it a runner. Definitely not a roller. It glides along and is in contact with about 6 studs at all times.

    I was a Marklinist for many years but have switched to two-rail H0 in the past year. See this article I wrote about my switch. Pizza cutter flanges, mediocre quality and high costs drove me away.

    Just my opinion but Marklin is simply no longer good value for the money thanks to the collapse of the dollar. Also, the new management will run them into the ground at the rate they are going.

    Interesting article -- thanks for posting the link. I noticed that was about a year ago -- how are you enjoying things after a year?

    I understand what you mean about the costs (and flanges) but was curious about the new management comment -- is there something they are doing that makes you think they are on the wrong track? (sorry, couldn't avoid that)
