I sure hope this loco will meet and exceed your expectations as far as performance and pulling power,It sure is a beautiful model..Lets just hope it's not a bad omen with the hoops you have had to jump through at the start of trying to purchase it and the 14 day waiting period your CC company imposed upon you...they should be happy you are using your CC card in these times..wonder what will happen when we stop paying them and we all file for bankruptcy they will also want the government to bail their sorry a$$es out. Oh!! that's right they already did!!!!

DragonfyreGT and Route66, thank you you the support, I am looking forward to getting this locomotive and really wanted it for my Easter open house, but didn't work out that way, so the MOW train will again subsitute in place of train #6 which is suppose actually run on my Christmas schedule, but since I'm buying it now, I will run it on my Spring (Easter) and Winter (Christmas schedule), this will give my GP-30 flat service train a break for this tear.

I was thinking along the same lines as DroganFyreGT, the CC company probably wants to put my payment on a freeze hold for 14 days to force me to pay more interests. Don't these stupid CC card companies realize the more they do this kinda raw aggravating buisness, the less the people will use them and will get even less buisness and lose even more money. I say we should have let every one of these stupid pitiful banks run my supposed college dumb educated people who only care about profit but couldn't make a good decision to save thier own a$$ fail. Every one of those banks should have been closed down, done. But that is for another board, I won't vent too much anger here, this is suppose to be a train board, so lets leave it at that. I will take pictures of my first run when I finally get this locomotive.

EMD, I have always been warned about "S" curves and that goes for any scale your working in. Some locos or wheel arrangments just will not tolorate them.Seems like your remedy will cure those problem areas.

if i ever have the chance again to build a garden layout i will not go with curves under 10ft radius (20ft diameter). the layout i used to have had 6.5ft radius(13ft diameter) and running large diesels just didn't look right.

oh, and a usa trains bigboy will not run on less than 10ft radius....

I spent my Easter at my friends house for an open house on his layout which was an utter disaster. His switch turnouts are all controlled by his computer. The software bugged out when he let his anti-virus update it's parameters and just as my units crossed a double slip, my coal hopper got nailed by a K-27. I let my U25B take a couple laps until some raccoon decided to derail it by walking right into it. His Southern Pacific USATrains Observation slipped off his bridge and landed in the water. Estimated 1500 in repairs to the electrical system. Part of his tunnel started to crumble. My friend Kris had electrical pickup issues with her LGB Glacier Express and when we tried to take her MKT FA-1/FB-1 and do an ABBA lash up with my FA-1/FB-1 and combine our rolling stock, well her power trucks were not picking up on the same power frequency as mine. And it was a horrid pull. Then we got a massive downpour and half the layout got flooded.

It was a unique and fun experience. Anything that could go wrong did. But that's the fun of a Garden Open House imo. When things go right, it's awesome, but when they go wrong, they make for an even more fun time. We took all the coal hoppers, put them in one long drag, our one successful pull, behind my friend's PA/PB/PB/PA setup and with around 30 coal hoppers stuffed them full of jellybeans, eggs, and stuffed rabbits for the kids. They loved it. A little silver lining in the cloud.

Well ya can't believe everything ya read and when it comes to wikipidia the info is only as good as the source it comes from. You remember the term zerox this? No it's a copy!!! the name of that brand of copier is called a zerox but weather you had a kodak copier people would always say zerox this.In G scale no matter what brand when it comes to Garden railroads the term is always "LGB" some people seem to put all brands G under the LGB listings in E-bay.So maybe if you look up Zerox the definition will state it's to copy. And if you look up LGB it might state anything G scale or Garden railroads?Heck now I'm confused?

All brands get put under LGB Because of it's high collector Value. Ever since The Marklin-LGB Thing, people list under LGB even if it's not because most people search LGB for collector's value. That means that your USA Trains listings under LGB Will score hits on ebay whether it's LGB or not. It puts a bigger focus on your item you're trying to sell.

Nice to see interaction of responses in this thread or just in the G scale section in general.

Sandro Schaer, nice to see you back in the G scale section, it has been a while. If I was going to do a outside layout I think I would use 20ft diameter curves also. I know the USA Big Boy needs at least 10ft minimum diameter curves, but I was talking about running those big SD-70MAC locomotives which will go thru a 8ft diameter curve when I was talking about my S curve article. When you run a layout inside, you can't go any bigger than 8ft diameter curves. The trains may look out of place on these curves, but at least I have a layout that I can run them on although it may not look realistic.

Route 66, you are funny, but I know what you are saying, hopefully anybody wantiung to get inot G scale or just got started will look here at Train Board for some good information.

DragonFyreGT, I think you are right on the money in your explantion as to Route 66 discovery of why G scale trains are being listed under LGB. To me, it is very irritating to see a listing like this > LGB/Aristocraft/USA train for auction < You don't know what it is until you look in the auction, most of the time I will skip right over ebay ads listed like that. If I'm looking for USA Trains I certainly don't want to see LGB in the mix. Thats why ebay created seperate search tabs for USA Trains, Aristocraft and LGB.

And to add onto the "Let's throw this stuff under LGB For quicker sales...." And this applies to ANYTHING from Video Game Collector Items (Like my Huge collection of Genesis Dev Boards and Carts) to G-Scale Stuff to antiques..... The over use of "RARE!" "PROMO" "LIMITED EDITION" "DEMO (video games)".... I find it hard to believe that All LGB Was "limited Edition".

EMD Trainmans G scale thread hits 9,000

I would like to take the time out to thank those who viewed my threads and also to those who responded in my section. I will continue to keep this section going while also working on getting more people to the train board G scale section. I know this can be tough in this economy, most have stopped spending on non essentials such as internet services and such. There are some out selling thier G scale collection or just stopped collecting and don't wish to get involved in a board at this time. It's still a hard road to go on, but together we can all make it.

Or in the case of my old house, the morons didn't level the foundation correctly when the cement floors were poured and once again my plywood won't stay nailed down in certain sections :mmad:

And despite those glitches, I am very impressed at how well that locomotive runs.
