This question came up on the Atlas N Forum so I am posting my reply here as well _______ The HTCR (High Traction "C" Radial is EMD's new 6-wheel radial truck. Here is some info: EMD HTCR HTCR Ia original version used on SD60MACS HTCR Ib Version used on SD75s and later (late '95) SD70s HTCR IIa Larger wheelbase to accomodate the 45" wheels used on all SD80MACS and Phase I SD90MACS. Has different snubbers also. HTCR IIb Version on SD90MAC-H-IIs (don't shoot) I don't have the faintest clue what the difference is, I just heard/read it is different. You can reach him by email at: BLMAInfo@aol.com ______ eNjoy
I contacted Craig regarding the HTCR trucks and it turns out that he has discontinued them due to difficulties in casting them combined with general lack of demand for them. He suggested using the SD90MAC sideframes or waiting for the SD70MAC (or whatever) to be released. Not sure how you would obtain the Kato sideframes, (other than buying an entire unit on eBay) maybe somebody has a suggestion?
