I'm curious to know if there is anyone in Eastern Oregon interested in building modules in N-scale with the idea of getting together sometime to run trains at county fairs or even baby dedications. I'm not fussy! I'm just looking for an excuse to get something going. Let me know... Send an email. Let's get together. What's a few hunderd miles? Twice this year I traveled long distance to operate some trains, but if it is possible I'd like to establish some operations closer so more time can be used running trains--not driving. I already drive for a living!

I posted this thread almost a year ago and I have not received any response, so I guess there aren't many people in eastern Oregon interested in model railroads.

Perhaps I can spike some interest with a picture of the layout I am building. Now, if only I remember how to post a picture....

I know some people in the Boise area that model the Oregon Short Line, N-Trak modules, but it may be a little too far to drive. There's a guy on the n_scale group at yahoo who has 80 feet of N-Trak modules plus inside and outside corners, all depicting the OSL. His name is Carter Fritschle. We were all members of the Snake River N-Scale Model Railroaders in the late 80's and early 90's.

A guy name Darrell Sterling has taken over the Snake River N-Scale Model Railroaders; he and some other guys are setting up a permanent layout in downtown Boise. Again, someone on the n_scale list could probably get you in contact with them. We used to do shows at the Old Bicycle Museum, so it is a great opportunity to run your long trains and meet alot of nice people.

    Have Fun-

When I saw your original post and it said "eastern" Oregon, I guess I didn't notice the Canyon City address. I'm in Waldport and don't model, just chase and ride 12 inch to the foot scale. There was a guy on here named Mike who I believe is a state policeman who lives in Eugene and models. Haven't heard from him lately. [IMG]
