I've been following this little operation. Seems like a rather interesting venture. All in videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZDPxlyQo-gRMKJJxDIM7BQ
I've been subscribed for a while now. He's been fairly careful not to say *exactly* where they are, but from the generalities he's made, us the proximity to places they've mentioned, they can't be too far from where I went to college. Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
About a mile and a half due east of the airport in Columbus, Ohio. It is not much track though. About one third of a mile long at most. So has me wondering what he is really doing.
I must have been very near there several times. I would have guessed that there was a *little* more than a third of a mile of trackage. Agreed, that isn't much. In their videos they've said that their intention is to lease storage for rail car owners but haven't yet found any tenants/clients. I suspect, however, since their actual business is in repairing freight cars that have been sidelined, minor derailments, etc, that at least one end goal would be to have a place (indoors or outdoors) where cars could be dropped for more major repairs. It might also, eventually, lead to an expansion of their business by giving them a place to store large rail equipment (ie. cranes) that could be taken to derailments, etc. Just guessing, of course.
I've been thinking about taking a little field trip down there, as I need to visit a couple other places in the area.
I was thinking similarly. That old industrial area is a good possibility for them to expand their existing business.
