I don't know how long this link will stay, but it is a story about working to save the E&N line on Vancouver Island, in conjunction with CP Rail. Hope it works out: http://www.canada.com/nanaimo/story.asp?id={F54BC476-4A0D-433C-B0F6-DC7B76867967}
Rick- Believe I read somewhere about track being removed? Somewhere on the north end of the E&N? If true, doesn't it seem odd that this would be happening? You'd think they'd (The RR) have whatever it takes to place such actions on hold while talks are ongoing. BoxcabE50
There are no rails being lifted on the Victoria Subdivision(Victoria-Courtenay). The only rails that are being pulled up are some yard trackage in Port Alberni. Three stub-tracks at the far end of the yard have been removed in Port Alberni to expand the adjacent truck yard. [ 05. September 2002, 02:46: Message edited by: E&NRailway ]
OK. In this case, I'm happy to know that I was way off base. Lifting rails anywhere is something I don't wish to see. BoxcabE50
