I recently purchased an Atlas Northern Pacific GP7 phase II no. 565. I've been searching the internet for photos of the prototype and can only find 565 painted in BN colors. I've found a few photos of other NP GP7s without dynamics and with torpedo tubes. I'm curious if only part of NPs Geep fleet had dynamics. 565 is from a batch delivered in December of 1953: 560-569. 560-563 did not have dynamics. 564-569 did have dynamics.
This is a very old build, probably 25 years old. There were no accurate NP geeps available back then so I custom painted this one with an undecorated Athearn GP 7 as a starting poing. I really disliled the oversized with of the hood, but at the time there was really nothing else available. Microscale decals were used and various detail parts were also added. It was remotored with a NWSL can motor also. Still runs like a Swiss watch. The air tanks were removed removed from under the frame and moved to the roof of the cab and a larger fuel tank was installed.

Way back around thirty years or so ago Prototype Modeler had a issue with a story about NP Geeps. I have the magazine which is no longer published. PM me your address and I can have a zerox copy made and send it to you
