Durango & Silverton NG RR washout

    Well, I lost the link, but the D&SNG has suffered a washout of a bridge and some right of way. The article I read stated eight to sixteen weeks for repairs. I wonder why that long? Anyhow.....

    I think it just takes a long time in that area/terrain. Hope it goes to the short side.

    You can see that the bridge is/was a single span over the creek between the concrete abutments.
    Looks like the creek would prefer to have, at least, a second span at that location.

    Evidently they had replaced something there with the newer abutments.

    Any updates to this? Have heard they are still running excursions but from 18 miles north of Durango as start point.
