When we were last over 'the pond' we were quite excited to se any locomotives in Rio Grande paint. Anyone know why, when Rio Grande took over the Southern Pacific, they went with the SP livery? To my mind, the DRGW looks far better than the SP. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com
Alan I have to agree with you on the colors. As everyone knows (or should) it was Rio Grande Industries that bought SP. The reason for going to the SP name and colors was industry recognition. SP was more widely known than the Rio Grande. Jim Harrawood 90 miles from TM heaven .
