Atlas has done the MP15 in two number each in YN2 and YN3. They have six more numbers before they do the hold CSX fleet of ten.

If you are patient you can score an Atlas MP15 CSX in the YN2 scheme on ebay like I did these cost a lot of money new but you can get a nice one used on the bay at almost half the price I only payed $45 including shipping for this one and it runs like new. It didn't come in the correct box but I don't care as long as it had a box. Its the quietest and smoothest switcher I have, a lot more quiet then my Kato's or my Life Like switchers.

The nice thing also about the Atlas is that its more prototypical then the Con Cor if you look at the CSX lettering on the Atlas its the correct color but the Con Cor its the wrong color. Also the gray is a little light on the Con Cor. On the Atlas its the correct shade of gray.

Don't forget that CSX had a couple NW2 switchers. Kato makes an NW2, although it doesn't reproduce the paint, but the schemes were really simple. One was green, and had "safety first" logos, the other was simple grey and blue, one of the original schemes. Either one would be really easy to mask off, and there's probably transfers for both.

bought 2 MP15's today at a train show! both the same CSX Dark Future Scheme, two different road numbers. one is DCC ready and the other is DCC equiped! i am quite excited by how smooth they run and the amount of pulling power that they have! thanks for all of the suggestions guys!

    Taylor,

Does is HAVE to be in CSX paint? Or do you simply model CSX?

Because if you model CSX (like I do), then there are other possible options.
Atlas may have already done this road number in actual CSX paint (I don't remember) but I was so excited when they recently came out with the L&N/Family Lines MP15 because CSX had one just like it-- except with a different road number.

    Here is Atlas' model....

I scratched off the white name and numbers off of the cab very very carefully and gently with a #11 Xacto knife.

I then applied new number decals. So here is mine....

    Here is the real thing...

I didn't change the numbers in the front number boards on my model because you need a magnifying glass to read them.

So how about it? Does it HAVE to be in CSX paint?
