I have the N scale DDA40X and it is acting funny. I can mess with the lights and such and it responds to it's number in that regards, but no motor control. Is there a CV I can set and reset it to factory?
Nevermind! I got it! I took a wild stab in the dark and tried CV8 set to 8 since I seemed to remember someone saying that that was a pretty universal reset. I'm not sure if that's true or not but it seemed to work in this case!:tb-biggrin:
That is true. When ever something weird starts to happen with an engine that had been working good I now just do a CV8 reset and reprogram the decoder as you have done. I like your avatar choice.
It is true for just about every NMRA-spec following decoder but the QSI series. The reset for those is a three-step process or via a reed switch or via a magnetic wand that deflects the reed switch.
