Last night around 1:30 am i heard a Louisville & Indiana train. So i went to my window to see what locomotives he had. And he was poking like really slow. Ive never seen L & I go this slow. He was probably only going 5 MPH. He didn't stop in town but he went about 20 cars and he stopped. I walked outside to make sure he didn't hit a car somwhere. When i opened the door it smelled like somthing was on fire. He was blocking all the crossings in town for about 45mins-1 hour. He findly started moving but his wheels were squeaking BAD. Does anyone have anymore info. This train was called CJ South.
Wella CSX detour just went thru and they was barreling thru town. Then they came to a quick stop. Then after about 10 mins. they started moving again.
Perhaps they burnt up some wheel bearings?? An SP train had this happen in Auburn some years back. All the bearings in one side of one truck lost all their lube and burnt up. Resulted in a cool cab tour though.
Yeah maybe. But also a CSX train went thru and did the same thing. My dad said he'll call the dispatcher later(CAUSE THERE FRIENDS) and he'll ask. Thanks for you help!:teeth:
Night trains are what the AUAR mostly runs, too. That and early morning trains. AUAR = Austin Area Terminal Railroad
I met the dispatcher when amtrak still ran here. I knew everyone from amtrak and the local railfans. But more then likly my dad will tell me tonight and ill post it:teeth:
Well my dad called the dispatcher and the one we was wanting to talk to is not working until thursday. But whatever the problem was its fixed cause last night CJ South booked it threw town. Also the CSX detours went on threw town.
