Hi, I have a Nozomi 500 train (japan RR) and i'm planning to turn it to dcc... My question is : can i add a TL1 decoder in each end of the train and give them the same number than the main decoder (DZ143) so that the lights switch from white to red as the train changes direction??? Would that work? Are they other solutions? thanks for all your help.
Yes, you can do that. You should only need 1 TL1 though. The main decoder also has function outputs. Use those outputs for the lead unit and the TL1 in the rear unit, assuming that the lead unit is the powered one. The only other option I can think of is to run wires from the lead unit to the rear unit to control the rear lights. David
