    Hi all,

Is there a place where I could find out the difference between the two? Specifically, what would it take to upgrade the now-retired Evolution to the Evo advanced?

    Thanks in advance!

The first place to look would be the Digitrax web site. It looks like the major difference is the new throttle with the Zephyr (like) display. The command station looks to be the plus version of the dcs210. So just a very little difference with that.

I'm not sure what you would hope to gain by upgrading the whole system. Just get one of the new throttles and run with it if that's what you are hopping to gain.

I'm going to guess here that most Digitrax users have added a computer interface with JMRI and are running WiFi throttle on smart phones by now. It is just so much easier that way.

I just got the Evo Advanced 5/8 starter set this spring, and it has already been replaced with the EVOX Evolution Express 5/8 starter set.

Looking at the components it's almost the same, with the DCS210 command station booster being replaced with the DCS210+, which adds a USB port. The other difference is the DT500 throttle is replaced with the DT602 Barbie Doll throttle.

So to answer your question, a USB port is the only feature different. Get a PR4 and you have the same functionality.

The curvy Barbie Doll throttle has bigger easier to see knobs, display, and buttons, so is better for old guys like me, but functionally no different than the DT500 throttle. I bought a PR4 USB to Loconet interface, so functionally my DCS210 now has the added + functionality of USB.

@rray: Does the extra DCC output make a difference to you?

Or would it be just as easy to add another booster and isolate a power district?

Since I run Z Scale, one output is good enough. The thing I need is the Loconet for all my devices.

Thanks. I'm just going to buy another PR4 and go with what I have. Got duplex radio thinking this layout could be taken to shows, now I don't need it, was thinking of trading in.
