I understand that the Digitrax DN149K2 decoders for the KATO N-scale SD40-2 locomotives have yellow leds for lights. Does anyone know if they are close to the color of the early version SD40-2's? ------------------ Residing in BNSF's St. Croix Subdivision near Trempealeau, WI

Do these work in the snoots? Also, how tough is it to replace the yellow LED with the "white" LED. I finally got my snoots and WOW. That white LED looks great!. The only problem is now I want them on all of my locos. Matt

I've installed about 30 white LED's on my Digitrax boards (old and new). No problems yet. Don't think I will change out the rear yellow LED to white, though. ------------------ Keep on Track'N Harold Riley www.phcomputing.com

I assume this could be done on non DCC lightboards as well such as KATO's SD45 77A ligt board. Thanks Matt
Yep, a de-solder, re-solder process ------------------ Keep on Track'N Harold Riley www.phcomputing.com

Got pretty good at this change. Did some for a buddy yesterday & it takes about 2 minutes, after the soldering iron gets hot. For me, these little white LEDs are the ONLY way to go. Let me tell you. You can't beat the sight of a unit with a white LED programmed for a MARS/Gyralite in a tunnel ------------------ Keep on Track'N Harold Riley www.phcomputing.com
