Hi Guys, In the near future, I will be making the switch to DCC on my layout. I'm having a custom SD70M done for me, and I would like the modeler to install a DCC board for me. I read on the NCE site that their Ath Gen decoder can run on both DC and DCC. I'm looking at the Digitrax DH163AO decoder, and I was wondering if this can also be used on DC and DCC? Thanks, Sean
Any of the Digitrax decoders will run on DC and should run right out of the package on DC but I still double check the values first to make sure it is set up for analoge(DC). And just a suggestion but for the Athearn SD70/75 engines they use a DN163K1B decoder. They have a file you can download off of Athearns site that shows installation or it's in the latest N-Scale as well. Not to mention how to fix the trucks so they run smoother and a lot quieter. Forgot that Digitrax just released the DN163K1C which could be a better decoder for the Athearn engines cause then you won't have to file down the LED's.
