>>> (Roger - do you get any heavy pixelation using the digital zoom? The Nikon seems to crop the image and increase the result when using the digital zoom. It makes the pixels appear "bigger" by adding similar coloured pixels, rather than averaging the pixel colours to take it out to the image size. It's not good at 2.5x digital!) <<< Not that I have really noticed, but it is a crop and fill method and I would guess averaging. However, I would rather shoot in a higher quality mode and crop it myself. As my work is for the web, I just don't use the 2x digital zoom on my Olympus. I do use the Macro mode for model shots and then sharpen the photo with software if it tends to blur. Ah, but the one at work, now that's another matter. Optical zoom is well worth the extra if you need the larger print photos and want a zoom. And, yes, "Phew!" That was quite a message. Roger

Well, at the time I was on webtv so I didn't pay attention to the soft ware. Last night I installed the soft ware in my new computer and was surprised and pleased that it included "Adobe Photo Delux" along with it's own software. I can't wait to replace my web site pictures taken with video capture, to digital images. ------------------ espee2 Railroading in Southern Oregon www.tunnel13.com layout: SP's Newberg Branch in N scale
